  • EXERCISES

  • Exercises are one of the core elements of PSI cooperation. The practical character of the Initiative, which is to increase the capabilities of services responsible for national security in case of WMD proliferation, affects the PSI exercises. They are not exercises in a military sense - the participants include representatives of intelligence, customs, border guards, special forces etc.

The elements that are subject of training during exercises are: special services cooperation (information exchange), checking the capabilities of appropriate services in the areas of control of suspected goods, ways of conducting interdiction operations (ex.: ship abordage by special forces) etc.

All exercises are conducted in accordance with national and international law requirements.

Two PSI exercises were held in Poland to date. Poland is also very active in the exercises held in Central and Eastern Europe, where we support countries in preparation and conduct of such exercises. This website provides a brief descriptions of the regional exercises held.
